This Policy explains how the MD Universal Converter app (the “App”) handles information. The App converts units and currencies on Android, does not require an account or login, and has no proprietary backend in the MVP.
1. Summary
- Unit conversions are processed on the device.
- Favorites, history, preferences, and the latest valid rate cache are stored locally.
- Search queries, input values, and results are not sent to analytics.
- The currency feature contacts an external provider for exchange rates.
- Google Mobile Ads is configured for advertising and Google UMP provides consent choices where applicable.
- Firebase Analytics may collect usage data and technical information only after the user enables Analytics in Settings.
2. Data stored locally
Language, theme, haptic preference, favorite pairs, conversion history, the last pair used, and the latest valid rate response may remain only on the device. This data is not synchronized to an account. Users can delete history and favorites in the App and remove other data by clearing app data or uninstalling the App.
3. Conversions and search
Physical unit conversions are performed locally. The App does not send input values, results, favorites, history, search text, or clipboard content to a proprietary server. Input values and results are also excluded from first-party analytics events.
4. Exchange rates
To update rates, the App contacts the ExchangeRate-API rates endpoint. This request does not send the amount entered or the currency pair selected by the user. The provider and network infrastructure may process an IP address, time, headers, and other technical data required to provide and secure the service. The latest valid response may be cached locally for offline use.

5. Advertising and consent
The App will use Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) for advertising. Depending on region, user choices, and configuration, Google and its partners may process device or advertising identifiers, IP address, inferred approximate location, technical app and device information, ad interactions, diagnostics, and fraud-prevention data.
Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) manages consent where applicable. Users can adjust privacy choices in the App when that option is available.
6. Analytics
The Android App includes Firebase Analytics with native collection disabled by default. Collection remains disabled while the Analytics preference is unset or denied. If the user enables Analytics in Settings, the App may send approved usage events and technical information to Google Firebase. The user can disable Analytics again without restarting the App.
Our instrumentation does not send entered values, conversion results, search queries, clipboard contents, local history, a custom user ID, or custom user properties. Firebase may generate automatic events and technical data under Google's documentation and policies. Advertising consent does not determine the separate Analytics preference.
7. Other data and permissions
The App does not request health, contacts, camera, microphone, or location data. We do not directly sell personal data. Required external services may process technical data under their own terms and policies.
8. Retention, security, and choices
Local data remains until deleted by the user, removed by internal limits, or erased when app data is cleared or the App is uninstalled. External providers define their own retention. We use proportionate measures such as HTTPS, data minimization, response validation, and environment separation, but no system is completely secure.
Depending on jurisdiction, users may have rights to access, correct, erase, object, restrict, or withdraw consent. Because product data mainly remains on the device and is not linked to an account, we may be unable to locate an individual record.
9. Children
The App is not specifically directed to children under 13 and does not intend to knowingly collect personal information directly from them. Guardians should supervise use as required by applicable law.
10. Changes and contact
This Policy may be updated to reflect changes to the product, providers, or law. The date above will change when a new version is published.
